Amppipal Hospital, District Gorkha in Nepal's mid Western region is looking for a surgeon / physician or general practitioner for long term stay. Volunteers welcome. The successful candidate must have extensive clinical experience in basic medical care as well as basic surgical procedures. You will be the only doctor for most of the year in a 43-bed hospital in rural Nepal situated at an altitude of 900 m / 2700 ft. with breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Additional medical doctors from Nepal and Europe are visiting for specialized camps several times per year. Permanent email backup for case discussions is in service. Medical equipment and supporting personnel is available for minor and major surgery, dental treatment, x-ray, ultrasound. Food and lodging will be provided. Local salary plus support by local and international non-governmental organisation.
